How this estimates
This calculator compares your existing debts against a single consolidation loan or promotional balance transfer credit card.
For an installment loan, your balance is restructured at a fixed monthly payment and fixed APR over a set term. Origination fees are accounted for whether financed into the loan balance or paid out of pocket.
For a balance transfer card, the transfer fee is added to your starting balance. If you pay off the balance during the promotional window, you save substantial interest. If a balance remains after the promo expires, the remaining principal accrues interest at the ongoing revert rate.
