About Does It Pay?
Practical calculators designed to help you run the numbers before making major financial and household commitments.
Why we built Does It Pay?
Most online calculators exist to capture your contact information and sell you a loan, a solar installation, or an insurance policy. Their default assumptions are often skewed to make every financial decision look like an immediate bargain.
Does It Pay? is built differently:
- No lead generation: We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or street address.
- No ads or tracking: There are no marketing trackers, cookies, or sponsored rankings.
- All math runs in your browser: Every calculation happens locally on your device using transparent arithmetic.
- Visible, editable assumptions: Every rate, price, and credit is visible and can be tailored to your real situation.
Report an issue or suggest a calculator
Does It Pay? is an open-source public service. If you notice a math error, a stale baseline rate, an accessibility defect, or want to suggest a new calculator, we welcome your feedback.
You can file an issue or submit a pull request directly on our GitHub repository: github.com/jvanschaack/doesitpay/issues.
